PacTac Advisors Inc. commenced operations 1 July 1999. It was created specifically to provide tactical advice to (1) non-U.S. organizations seeking foreign direct investment from the United States and Canada, and (2) companies making international site selection decisions..
Dennis Smith, PacTac’s president, was, for the six years before starting PacTac Advisors, Investment Commissioner, North America, for Invest Australia, the Australian federal government's investment attraction agency. During that time, his North American organization was involved in over A$9 billion (US $5.8 billion) of new investment into Australia, initially creating over 7,000 jobs. His other work experience includes management positions in the corporate banking departments of French, Japanese, and Australia banks, and experience as CFO and President of American manufacturing companies.
PacTac has arrangements with a small group of consultants who have expertise in specific industries and/or specific parts of the world, or have extensive investment attraction or incentives structuring experience. These consultants work with PacTac on a project basis as needed. Some of them are listed on this website under "Affiliated Consultants."
